Adira Counseling
(Ah-deer-ah) strong, powerful...

About Me
When you think about traditional counseling you may imagine a person that is dull, talking in a monotone voice and they are sterile in their approach. Well thankfully that's not me! I am warm, enthusiastic, engaging and genuine.Â
At the age of five I experienced childhood trauma via a sexual abuse incident. While in elementary school I struggled to learn. I have experienced domestic violence, trauma and grief. Addiction is prevalent in my family including one of my children. My life has been full of challenges. However obstacles have not kept me from living a life of joy.
It's Your Story, It's Your Therapy
Therapy created for the Unique Individual, YOU!
Individual Therapy
Teens, Adults... Women and Men
Many of my clients are recovering from trauma they want to heal based on their personal definition of healing. The individuals I work with have experienced hurt and pain in various forms, they are searching for help in confidence, learning to love self and accept self. They are eager to obtain happiness, freedom and independence from life long self deprecating beliefs that are holding them back from living their very best life. The people I engage with are working to find their worth and value that is based in self awareness and not the voices of society and toxic relationships. I greatly enjoy working with people who seek to create their new life through growth in personal development.

Trauma, Depression, Anxiety
Regain your energy! Renew happiness! Restore your life!
Trauma
"How do I get through this?" Some traumas are smaller in scale and affect everyday functioning. However, there are larger traumas that come out of astonishing experiences that can bring about distress and leave one feeling hopeless. I have a wealth of experience working with clients that are survivors of childhood sexual abuse, child abuse and neglect. Women who have survived domestic violence and rape.

Depression
"I just want to be happy". Depression differs from person to person. Depression may include
loneliness, toxic relationships, negativity that cripples you, grief and loss, resentment, feelings of rejection, guilt, lack of engagement in life, healing from past relationships, divorce, lack of spiritual life.

Anxiety
"I don't know why I'm worried all the time." Anxiety challenges you may relate to include perfectionism, lifestyle choices, personal insecurities, low self-esteem, stress management, lack of
self care, identifying your needs, negative thoughts about self,
procrastination, lack of boundaries and
always saying YES!
